Common Garage Door Issues: Snapped Cables
In 2007, there were 1,610 reported injuries caused by non-professionals trying to fix their garage door themselves…
Snapped Cables
A broken cable can prevent one side of your garage door from lifting, or lock you out of your home entirely if neither side will move. Luckily, cables are easily replaced by a professional.
Visually inspect the cables that attach the spring system to the bottom brackets on both sides of the door. If these cables are frayed or worn, they are in danger of breaking.
